List Of Smartphones Expected To Get Android O 8.0 Update

With the first developer build of Android O arriving, speculations and guesses of devices getting the Android O update have come to life. Android O promises some new and exciting features, which everyone would love to have on their smartphones. Though it's a bit too early to state which devices will be getting the Android O Update, there are some devices, which, we know for sure, will be getting it. In this list, we'll mention the phones which are most probably receiving the Android O Update soon after it's official release.

While we're making this list based completely on our guesses, we'll be adding devices as soon as we get a confirmation of them getting the Android 8 update. So, here goes the list!

As usual, phones made by Google will be first in line to get the Android O update when it rolls out.
  • Google Pixel
  • Google Pixel XL

The fact that HTC is also good at updating its phones makes us believe that some HTC phones will be getting the next update of Android. Moreover, flagship phones of HTC almost always get 2 Android updates every time, so we're sure that HTC's flagship for 2016 and 2017 will be getting Android 8.
  • HTC U Ultra
  • HTC 10

With the OnePlus 3 and 3T, the company has massively improved its update cycle and has been providing regular updates to its latest devices. We're confident that OnePlus will continue its motto of 'Never Settle' for updates as well!
  • OnePlus 3/3T
  • OnePlus 5 (Launching Soon)

LG has worked in collaboration with Google many-a-times. Also, LG V20 was the first non-Nexus phone to be shipped with Android Nougat. This makes us believe that many LG phones will be updated to Android O.
  • LG Nexus 5X
  • LG V20
  • LG G6
  • LG G5

Xiaomi (or Mi) is known for giving timely updates to all its phones. Though the phones don't get the latest Android updates, they do get MIUI updates which include new features and bug-fixes. We expect at least the flagship phones of Mi to get Android O upgrade.
  • Mi Mix
  • Mi 5/5S/5S Plus
  • Mi Note/Pro
  • Mi 6 (Launching Soon)

No surprises for guessing, Samsung always provides regular Android updates to its flagship phones and the flagships from the past two years will get Android 8.
  • Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Launching Soon)
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (Refurbished)
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Huawei recently updated its Honor 8 to Android Nougat and has been pretty good at providing updates.
  • Huawei Nexus 6P
  • Huawei P10
  • Huawei Honor 8
  • Huawei Mate 9/Mate 9 Pro

This is the brand that has been bugging us, for its pathetic update cycle. Lenovo's flagship phone- the Vibe X3 still is on Marshmallow, and the same goes for the ZUK Z1, which has been forgotten by the brand entirely. Sill, here go our guesses but don't file a case on us if Lenovo doesn't provide the update.
  • ZUK Z2 Plus
  • Lenovo P2

Motorola was known for timely and regular updates, but after it has been owned by Lenovo, the pace of updates has slowed down. Still, we're pretty confident that some existing Moto devices will get Android 8.
  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Play
  • Motorola Nexus 6
  • Moto G5/G5 Plus

Sony has not been doing as well nowadays as it used to before a couple of years, and that has something to do with their line of products. While they do provide Android updates for their flagships, their mid and budget range of phones remain un-noticed,
  • Sony Xperia XZ
  • Sony Xperia XA1
  • Sony Xperia XZS
  • Xperia Z5/Z5 Compact/Z5 Premium

That's all for this quick list. We will be adding phones of other manufacturers soon, including YU, Vivo, Oppo, Meizu, etc., so do check back in some time. Meanwhile, if you think we missed some phones, do let us know in the comments section below.
Peace Out!
